ATELIER
ATELIER was the 3rd semester project. It focuses on unleashing creativity and developing design skills without the constraints of brand or market limitations. We explored various design principles, while prioritising innovation and sustainability. The main task was to create a fashion collection expressing the vision of form, material, and construction, based on the principles and techniques learned throughout the semester.

CREATING SHAPE
Being inspired by brutalist architecture really shook up the way I approached the structure of my designs. I loved the bold shapes and rugged textures of brutalism, and that started to reflect in my work. Experimenting with volume became a big deal for me, trying to capture that powerful presence you feel in brutalist buildings. I started incorporating tough hasps into my designs, not just for function, but to add to that robust look I was after. It was like my pieces took on this architectural vibe that made them stand out in a whole new way.
THINKING SUSTAINABLE
This semester, we focused on sustainable fabric dyeing techniques, emphasizing eco-friendly methods like natural and low-impact synthetic dyes. We also stressed the importance of sustainable material usage to reduce environmental impact in the fashion industry. I looked into using grass as a dye, particularly for green hues, advancing practices within textile design.
